The Opportunity
We're seeking a Consulting Psychiatrist to launch Allara's Psychiatry Service Line, as Allara Health expands its care model to include psychiatric services for women navigating the intersection of hormonal and mental health, and we're looking for a board-certified psychiatrist to support the launch right from the ground up.
This is a consulting engagement supporting the clinical infrastructure for Allara's psychiatry service line. You'll work closely with our clinical and operations leadership to design the protocols, safeguards, and hiring standards that will define how we deliver psychiatric care to our patients. Once launched, you’ll treat your own panel of patients as well as provide supervision and case consultations.
Location: Fully remote within the U.S.
Your Impact
Pre-Launch
Develop clinical protocols for the treatment of mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and PMDD, including medication management and therapeutic modalities
Design safety and escalation protocols for behavioral health
Build a hiring rubric and assessment framework for PMHNP candidates
Participate in initial PMHNP interviews alongside our clinical team
Post-Launch
Allocate 50% of your time to treating patients experiencing mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and PMDD
Supervise PMHNPs
Provide case consultations
Support on ad-hoc escalations
Required Qualifications
Board Certification: Active board certification in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP).
Licensure: An active, unrestricted, and unencumbered medical license in at least one of the following states: California, Florida, New York, or Texas. An IMLC license can be considered if willing to obtain an IMLC state mentioned above.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience as a practicing psychiatrist, with a focus on outpatient care.
Women's Mental Health: Demonstrated experience treating conditions at the intersection of hormonal and mental health, including depression, anxiety, and PMDD.
Supervision: Experience supervising or collaborating with psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) or other advanced practice providers.
Systems Building: Ability to translate clinical rigor into scalable protocols, safety standards, and hiring frameworks in a fast-moving environment.
Communication & Webside Manner: Exceptional written and verbal communication, with a strong ability to connect with patients virtually and deliver empathetic, evidence-based care.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating multiple screens and tools such as EMR, Gmail, Google Calendar, Zoom, and scheduling platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a telehealth or high-growth care delivery environment.
Experience designing behavioral health safety and escalation protocols.
Time Commitment
Pre-Launch: 5 hours/wk from September-26 to February-27
Post- Launch: 10 hours/wk from March-27 onwards
