Qumulo's cloud data platform manages exabytes of the world's most demanding data, unifying files, objects, and every workload across edge, core, and cloud.

About the role

Qumulo's finance team plans and forecasts for a business that sells on both a consumption and subscription basis. As our Financial Analyst you'll help build cash flow forecasts, plan operating expenses in Adaptive, work with budget owners across the company, and follow the top line from ACV through bookings, billings, and ARR.

Reporting to our Director of Finance, your work will be highly visible to leadership, the board, and investors, and within short order you’ll own something meaningful like our cash flow model or quarterly executive deck.

You’ll be joining during a time of rapid growth, and become part of a team that’s still small enough that you’ll see the entire finance function: cash, planning, commissions, and board reporting. Where you go from there depends on what you're drawn to, whether that's FP&A leadership, cloud and consumption finance, or the reporting side.

As a Financial Analyst at Qumulo, you will:

Own the regular preparation and management of financial reports and forecasts, such as the quarterly cash flow forecast.

Build and review operating expense plans in Workday Adaptive Planning.

Run the regular plan-vs-actual reviews with budget owners

Model the top line from ACV through bookings, billings, and ARR, including what moves when deal structure or contract length changes.

Help produce reporting packages for leadership, including the quarterly executive deck and the board and investor reporting.

Help model and answer broad financial questions and alternative business models, like how changes to contract length or pricing might impact cash or ARR.

Automate recurring work in Excel, Adaptive, or with Python if that's the right tool.

And our ideal Finacial Analyst will have:

2+ years in FP&A, public accounting, corporate finance, or investment banking, and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Coming from Big 4 or banking rather than corporate finance that can be a fit here.

An understanding of SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, NRR, GRR, bookings and billings, ACV) and how revenue recognition works across subscription and consumption-based contracts

Experience developing and managing operating plans, budgets, P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

Advanced analytics and forecasting ability with Excel, and ideally experience using planning tools like Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Planful, or Pigment.

Ability to work on-site at our downtown Seattle office four to five days a week.

Bonus points for hands-on analytics skills with Python, R, or similar, and/or a demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools for advanced development and analytics use cases.

The annual pay range for the role is USD $90,000 - $125,000 plus benefits and pre-IPO stock options. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience, and skills.

Benefits & Perks:

Pre-IPO stock options

Flexible time-off policy

HSA and PPO health insurance options

Dental and Vision insurance

401(k) plan

Choice of an ORCA card or parking subsidy
