The firm has built a strong reputation for providing structural design and forensic engineering services for buildings and special structures, delivering highly detailed, fully constructible drawings that minimize change orders and keep projects on schedule. The company maintains long-term relationships with architecture-firm clients across both new construction and renovation projects. Position Overview
The firm is seeking a Structural Engineer – Client Relations to blend hands-on structural engineering with day-to-day ownership of key client relationships. The ideal candidate is a technically capable structural engineer who is equally comfortable in front of clients, managing accounts, and coordinating project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of architecture-firm and building-owner clients
Perform structural engineering design, analysis, and drawing review on building projects
Coordinate project scope, schedule, and deliverables between clients and internal engineering staff
Identify opportunities to expand and deepen existing client relationships
Prepare proposals, fee estimates, and scope documents in partnership with firm leadership
Attend client meetings, site visits, and project coordination calls as the face of the firm
Collaborate with senior engineers on technical quality control for assigned projects
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or closely related field)
7–10 years of structural engineering experience, including buildings and special structures
Demonstrated experience managing client relationships directly and independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presence in client-facing settings
Solid working knowledge of applicable building codes and structural design standards
Ability to manage multiple projects and client accounts simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Active Structural Engineer (SE) license (not required, but a plus)
Prior experience working directly with architecture firms as primary clients
Business development or account-growth experience
Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit structural workflows
