About the Role
Matter Health is seeking a Director of Data Strategy & Engineering to lead our enterprise data strategy, engineering, and analytics platform. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this leader will be responsible for designing, developing, and evolving Matter Health’s modern healthcare data ecosystem. The Director will collaborate closely with Clinical, Operations, Finance, and Technology leadership to turn data into actionable business insights that improve operational performance, strengthen value-based care initiatives, and drive organizational growth.
This is a high-visibility leadership role central to Matter Health’s technology-driven mission and future.
What You’ll Do
Lead and set the vision for Matter Health’s enterprise data strategy and long-term data roadmap.
Design, build, and optimize scalable cloud-based data platforms and analytics infrastructure.
Oversee data architecture, engineering, governance, quality, and reporting capabilities.
Develop and maintain enterprise data warehouses, data pipelines, and integration solutions.
Partner with executive leadership to deliver impactful operational, clinical, financial, and strategic insights.
Collaborate across departments to enable data-driven decision-making and business growth.
Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance Matter Health’s data ecosystem.
What We’re Looking For
Significant experience leading enterprise data engineering, analytics, or data platform organizations.
Strong background in designing and managing modern cloud-based data platforms.
Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture, ETL processes, data governance, and analytics best practices.
Experience working with healthcare data, including EHR, payer, claims, CRM, or operational systems.
Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or related technologies.
Proven ability to build strong partnerships with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing technical teams.
Excellent communication skills with the capacity to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in value-based care, Medicare Advantage, population health, or healthcare technology organizations.
Background building scalable enterprise analytics platforms for executive reporting and business intelligence.
Experience operating within rapidly growing organizations.
Prior leadership of enterprise data strategy, data engineering, or healthcare analytics teams.

Work Location
This position is primarily remote within the United States, with occasional travel (approximately every 6–8 weeks) to Matter Health corporate offices or market locations as needed.
